“EYELIDS, JAWLINE, EARLOBES?  THREE WOMEN ON THE FEATURES THEY TOOK FOR GRANTED—UNTIL THEY DROPPED” is the subtitle of an informative article in VOGUE, August 2011, “The Age Issue”.  Dodie Kazanjian is the first to describe her “…earlobes (that) have always been too long, and like every other part of me, they’re not improving with age.”  After consulting with a dermatologist and plastic surgeon, she chose to not have ear reduction surgery since her husband was against a “lobe-otomy”, in exchange she will get big clip on earrings by JAR.  In our office we perform ear reduction surgery as well as repair of earlobes that are stretched or torn.

Marina Rust described her jawline odessy.  Her aesthetician Mary Schook told her, “We associate a sharp jawline with youth and with health.”  Ms. Rust has galvanic treatments to lift her jawline.  In LA, I refer my patients who wish to have galvanic treatments to Kim Cole for “Profector” treatments.  Ultherapy by Ulthera is mentioned as a “longer lasting nonsurgical procedure that targets the jaw with ultrasound…heating the skin’s underlying connective tissue, causing it to contract, tighten, and ultimately lift.”  Ulthera is available at our office and is currently our most popular rejuvenative procedure with very high patient satisfaction rates and no downtime.

Lastly Jancee Dunn described how she handled her drooping upper eyelids.  She too underwent a nonsurgical treatment…a fractionated CO2 laser upper eyelid treatment which in many patients can be nearly as effective as a surgical blepharoplasty.  Dr. Persky has been at the fore-front of fractionated CO2fraxel laser treatments since their inception about 4 years ago.  Dr. Persky uses the gold standard Fraxel repair laser on his patients.
