The Neuromodulators….Botox, Dysport, Xeomin

We are fortunate to live in an age where we have so many great non-invasive aesthetic treatments to offer our patients.  Neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are the number one facial aesthetic treatment in the world with millions safely treated each year.  It is usually the first cosmetic treatment that most “virgin” plastic surgery patients experience.

The treatment is simple, takes a few minutes, and we prioritize keeping our patients comfortable, making the procedure as easy as possible by using ice and the smallest needles available.

The advantage of having your modulators done with us is the experience, skill, anatomic knowledge, complete facial analysis, and natural artistic vision that Dr. Persky, a board certified facial plastic surgeon has developed over the last 25 years of neuromodulator use.

Neuromodulators can be used to take years away from your appearance and leave you with a rested, healthy, natural appearance.  I know, “but I always see those people who look so scary from Botox!”, you may say.  It is not the neuromodulator, it is the lack of artistic vision, skill, and experience of the injector.  Neuromodulators get rid of the “11” glabellar lines between the eye brows, crow’s feet, can raise the eyebrows,  helps with vertical lip lines, chin wrinkles, and can reshape the lower face by narrowing large wide jaw muscles.  It has been shown that treatment with neuromodulators is as effective for depression as many anti-depression medications.  In other words, the great majority of people not only look better after their treatment, but they feel better too!

The cost of neuromodulators is dependent on the amount that is used.  Xeomin is less expensive than equivalent amounts of Botox or Dysport.  We do not “sell neuromodulators by the unit”, rather we insure that each of our patients will get their best result.  Our products are pure, consistent, and we stand behind your rejuvenation.  You will be treated safely, effectively, and relatively pain free.  Patients who schedule their next neuromodulator treatment at the time of their current appointment receive a 10% discount.

The most common complication of neuromodulator injection is a small bruise that may last a few days.  Most patients have no side effect or bruising.  We use Ocumend arnica gel patches over areas that may bruise.  The use of these patches has dramatically decreased any significant bruising.  To help reduce bruising we ask that our patients discontinue all oral medications that may increase bleeding such as aspirin, anti-inflammatories like Advil, Motrin, Aleve, and fish oil.

It usually takes about 2 to 3 days to begin seeing the effects of neuromodulators, and by 10 days the effect is complete.  We like for our patients to return at about 10 days to make sure that their treatment is perfect, without any obvious signs that something as been done (no raised, surprised eyebrows!)

Neuromodulators usually last for 3 to 4 months.  It is best to schedule another treatment when you first begin to notice return of movement in the muscles treated.  Most patients benefit from 3 to 4 neuromodulator treatments per year.

When you trust your face to us, you can trust that we will do our best and everything to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.
