00.01 – Having injectibles after surgery

00.12– Duration after different surgeries

01.16 – Advancement of fillers

Many patients ask us when can they have injectibles after their surgery. Really kind of depends on what surgery they’ve had.

For the most part, the major surgery on the face is a facelift and we like for the patient to heal after having had their facelift for at least a few months before doing injectibles.  Now if it is a small area such as their lips or lines in their lips they can have injections almost immediately after their surgery once after a week or two. But for volume in the face, we like to wait for the face to heal and to see what the results of the surgery are before we put anything else in.

Often times we combine the actual facelift with adding volume to the face whether that’s usually with a fat transfer, we’re using the patient’s own fat as a filler to augment the results of a facelift. After Rhinoplasty, we like to wait at least a few months.

One of the really nice things that’s occurred over the past year is with the advance of fillers is the ability to be able to take a small amount of high ionic acid fillers such as Zubeter or Restyln and just kind of camouflage any irregularities that may appear on the nose during the post-operative period or even years after a Rhinoplasty.
