Since the inception of plastic surgery, new technologies and innovations have been developed as people have demanded them. More and more people are requesting less-invasive options for rejuvenating their appearance. Surgery can be scary and intimidating because it entails a long recovery, pain, and anesthesia. People want to achieve similar results but in a quicker fashion with less downtime. Silhouette InstaLift™ is among the latest FDA-cleared cosmetic surgery technologies to treat sagging facial skin.

Until the introduction of Silhouette InstaLift™, there wasn’t a minimally invasive, safe, and effective way to directly lift saggy facial skin that causes an aged and tired appearance. There are several procedures out there that promise to remove wrinkles, age spots, and lost volume without surgery, but nothing was available that could directly lift and tighten the deeper layers of the skin. Now, Silhouette InstaLift™ offers patients gratifying results without ever having to go near an operating table or experience a long recovery.

Candidates

Silhouette InstaLift™ is a minimally invasive solution available to men and women who are interested in refreshing their facial appearance without surgery. Heavy nasolabial folds and jowling can be directly targeted using artistic vision to connect the vectors (direction of pull) that will give each patient their best results in a natural manner. Best candidates are young to middle aged with good quality skin. It is important that patients are educated on the procedure, are in good health, and have realistic expectations.

The Consultation

During your consultation, Dr. Persky will evaluate your facial skin and anatomy. He will discuss your goals and go over a list of options for achieving your desired outcome. Dr. Persky will help you decide if Silhouette InstaLift™ will correct your problem areas or if you are better suited for a surgical procedure such as facelift surgery.

Procedure

The Silhouette InstaLift™ is a simple procedure used to recontour the face by lifting the deeper layers of the facial skin. It is a 30-minute procedure performed in-office. During the procedure, small local anesthetic blebs are used to numb the treatment area. As an experienced, expert facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Persky knows the proper anatomical plane to insert the sutures most comfortably and effectively to assure your best natural result. The Silhouette InstaLift™ sutures are bi-directional cones made from glycolide/L-lactide (PLGA), a biomedical copolymer that is generally well-tolerated by the body. The sutures are implanted into the midface and cheek. The sutures will be used to reposition and tighten the structures of the face by providing a mechanical fixation of the tissue that will absorb into the body and begin to stimulate natural collagen production. As the suture and cones are absorbed, they add needed volume to the cheeks. On average, approximately three sutures are used for each side of the face. For every three sutures that dissolve, the equivalence of one vial of Sculptra® Aesthetic volume is added to the face. Over time, the biological fixation induced by the sutures helps to increase volume and restore shapeliness to the face.

Results

Silhouette InstaLift™ results are immediately noticeable; however, full results may take time to develop. The outcome is meant to last from one to two years depending on the patient. Patients who follow a healthy diet and skincare regimen are more likely to achieve the best results. With Silhouette InstaLift™, patients can achieve a refreshed look that appears naturally youthful.
