“…he carries his nose above a punchinello ruff, a nose that…Ah, gentlemen, what a nose!  Those who see it pass by can’t help exclaiming, “No, it can’t be true!”  Then they smile and say, “He’ll soon take it off.”  But Monsieur de Bergerac never takes it off….He keeps it on—and runs his sword through anyone who looks at it too closely.”

From Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac

Pun·chi·nel·lo

n. pl. Pun·chi·nel·los or Pun·chi·nel·loes 1. The short fat buffoon or clown in an Italian puppet show.
I am looking forward to attending the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery’s “Advances in Rhinoplasty” meeting in Chicago this week.  The biennial meeting brings together many of the world’s top rhinoplasty surgeons.  I am often asked to recommend the “best rhinoplasty surgeon” in such or such city or country in the world.  For those of you interested, you should check the list of faculty members giving lectures during the four day meetings.  For the most part, they are among the best rhinoplasty surgeons whom I would recommend.
I look forward to meeting with old friends and colleagues, sharing our rhinoplasty knowledge, having a few nice meals, enjoying an evening Chicago River boat architectural tour,  and a trip to Wrigley Field.  Oh, let’s not forget, finish reading “Cyrano de Bergerac”.
“No wind but the mighty Arctic blast, majestic nose, could ever give you a cold from one end to the other!”
