CoolSculpting by Zeltiq is a very safe and effective treatment that targets unwanted fat bulges that are resistant to diet and exercise. I have been very impressed by the results we are now seeing in our patients over the past year.

We are aware of a local Zeltiq provider who has told patients that she “would not treat them with the large hand piece, you would do better with two small treatments”, omitting the fact that she does not have the large hand piece.
Dr. Persky is a physician for his patients first and foremost. Another recent patient who is taking the blood thinner Coumadin requested CoolSculpting by Zeltiq for his abdominal fat. When Dr. Persky told the patient that he was concerned about significant bleeding because of the blood thinning medication, and that the benefits of the treatment would not be worth the risks of hemorrhage, the patient told us that he was told by a local physician that it was okay to be treated, and in fact would discount the price of the treatments as well since there was a “book by the end of the month special”.
As a very good colleague of ours in Destin, FL, Steve Weiner, MD recently shared with us about physicians who “discount” CoolSculpting by Zeltiq, “I refuse to discount I’m no longer going to compete in price. Patients get top of the line care and experience with me so they’ll get what they pay for elsewhere.” We know when we refer a patient to Dr. Weiner that they will get quality care.
As with all aesthetic treatments, from Botox injections to rhinoplasty to face lifts, it is how your treating physician uses the tools and the procedures at their disposal that ultimately makes the difference in your outcome. Don’t be fooled by physicians and practices who want to treat their patients like Wal-Mart shoppers, to support their own Neiman-Marcus life styles.
