RealSelf actual patient comment:

Hello! I’m a late-20s female who is starting to notice pronounced nasolabial folds, primarily on the left side of my face. I think this might be due to having “flat” anterior cheekbones and fairly low body fat or some other anatomical thing that has to do with my smile (I included an image in case that’s helpful). I’d like to have a career in front of the camera so I’m trying to age as gracefully as possible. Any thoughts on whether I should look into fillers? Thanks!

before and after

A.Your request is a common complaint that we see in our facial plastic surgery office. Beginning at about age 25 there is loss of bone in the cheeks. This results in the formation of early nasolabial folds (NLFs). Rather that treating the result of the bone loss (the NLFs), today we treat the cause of NLFs, the volume loss in the cheeks. For a patient such as yourself, one syringe of properly placed Voluma should correct the slight aging that you are experiencing. We like to call it going from “Hotty to Oh My G-ddy!!!” Your job to choose your injecting physician most carefully based on their experience, skill, knowledge, and most importantly their natural artistic vision. You should look great, but your treatment results should not look obviously plastic. Good luck and be well.
