“If anyone invents a ray gun that undoes every face job in Beverly Hills, I want to be around when whoever pulls the trigger”

Cameron Diaz, an advocate of staying au naturel

What with awards season upon us, tis the time of the year when Hollywood’s A, B, and even C Lister’s are getting tuned up for their red carpet appearances.  Some of the Vera Wang gowns will be fitting a little better thanks to Coolsculpting by Zeltiq, a quick non-invasive way to reduce fat bulges with external cooling. While injecting Botox today, an actress commented, “Can you imagine how much Botox is being injected this week in this town?”

Strategically placed Botox can relax muscles and decrease wrinkles without necessarily completely immobilizing the face.  Properly performed,  there should be some movement in the face.   A  patient commented today that she saw the movie, “Grand Rapids” and was distracted from the movie as she couldn’t take her eyes off of the beautiful and talented Anne Heche, who’s upper 1/2 face was shiny still, most likely from a bit too aggressive Botox treatment.

Botox is not the only thing being injected.  Fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, and Radiesse can be used to add volume and fill in wrinkles, but must be done at least 2 to 3 weeks before accepting your Academy Award, just in case there is a bruise or need for adjustment.  For those who acted (no pun intended) a few months ahead, they are already reaping the benefits of their Sculptra volume replacement in their faces; which when done properly has people asking, “So and So looks so good, what do you think she is doing, it just looks so natural!”

A silk peel dermabrasion followed by an Intraceuticals Oxygen Infusion facial (one of Madonna’s favs) within a day or two of singing your hit at the Grammys will have your face looking creamy soft, smooth, and hydrated.

Others may prefer galvanic stimulation with Perfector to lift their facial muscles (there is a toner for the abdomen as well).  Pelleve` and Accent XL are radiofrequency treatments that tighten and lift the face and neck.

My favorite is treating my nominees with Fraxel Lite about 3 weeks before their award followed with a series of O2 Intraceuticals Hyaluronic Acid Infusion facials.  Throw in a series of Purigenex collagen masks and SkinMedica’s incredible TNS Essential Serum, and there goesPurigenex 10 years right before your eyes!

Good luck to all, the envelope please, and the winner is….

Be well.
