Ultherapy is not a laser treatment; ultherapy is an ultrasound treatment.
Ultherapy uses ultrasound and it is micro-focused ultrasound beams that come together to a specific point, beneath the surface of the skin; and when those beams hit, they create a great deal of heat; and that’s what causes the lifting and tightening. Ultherapy works at deeper levels than any laser; it works at about 4 ½ mm deep which is the fiber muscular layer; it also works at 3mm deep which is where the undersurface of the skin is; ……
The deepest lasers goes about 1 ½ to 2 mm deep; so sometimes there are patients who want to have a maximum non-invasive treatment; the nice thing about having a multiple layers of treatment is you can layer those treatments and get a very dramatic face lifting and neck lifting effect; without cutting.
And sometimes what we like to do is treat the deeper layers with ultherapy and then use the laser on top of that; and particularly patients who have some time to recover, if they have a week or two to recover, they want a dramatic improvement and rejuvenation and youthfulness to their appearance.
