One of the main reasons that many potential patients do not come to aesthetic physicians for Botox treatments or fillers is because of the fear of pain. At Persky Sunder Facial Plastic Surgery, our goal is to make sure that our patients are as comfortable as possible while being treated with Botox and other fillers. Thanks to the work of Dr. Gate, the Gate Theory of Pain allows Dr. Persky and Dr. Sunder to treat patients without pain. The Gate Theory of Pain takes advantage of the fact that our brain can only sense one of simultaneous pain stimulations. We have our assistants apply ice just prior to injection with a needle. The patient feels the cold sensation and not the needle prick. There may be many pricks in your life, but you need not feel those from a needle. Be well.
