“Rethinking the Facelift” written by Sandra Ballentine in the August 2013 issue of Vogue Magazine discusses the “new, customized facelift” of 2013. What’s new and different? Not much.

For years we have been customizing our facelifts, using fat transfer to replace lost volume, and meticulously taking care of the incision lines to create a natural, undectable, fresher, younger, and better version of the patient. Dr. Sarmela Sunder performs a most natural, “not pulled” facelift. A patient who had a facelift by Dr. Sunder three months ago commented today, “Dr. Sunder’s incisions are unbelievable! Within two weeks we couldn’t see them!” In four to five hours, Dr. Sunder can erase at least ten years from a patient’s face, and no one would know unless they saw the patient during the two week recovery period. Women in their 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s simply look like better versions of themselves.

There is controversy about the benefits of stem cells and plasma en-riched platelets (PRP) added to fat for better effect. We have witnessed the “stem cell” benefits of fat transfer for years. The cost of the “new customized facelift” quoted to range from $20,000 to $40,000 is high compared to our “customized” fees.
