Dr. Michael Persky has been honored to participate in “State of the Art in Facial Aesthetics 2013” in Atlanta, Georgia in late March. Dr. Persky is busy preparing his 8 lectures to be presented over the 4 day multi-specialty conference that brings world renowned surgeons together to share their facial aesthetic knowledge.

Dr. Persky’s first presentation is, “What is Beauty?…Beauty Secrets” Over the next few weeks, Dr. Persky plans to share some of those secrets here. Here is the first regarding artistic vision in facial aesthetics.

Without artistic vision, a facial aesthetic treatment can be technically successfully performed, yet will result in aesthetic failure! This explains all of those “funny” looking people out there despite fillers, Botox, and surgeries. They look like they are cheeks and lips on a stick! As one of my colleagues says, “You know, when you look at them they give you the willies!” Their aesthetic treatments were performed, but apparently their treating physicians or nurses studied Picasso’s proportions when

they should have studied da Vinci’s Devine Ratios. The goal of aesthetic beauty treatment is enhancement and rejuvenation without the “obvious” appearance of having had something done.

Be well!
